Energy helps us in using a lot of things at home. Things

like fans, lights, vacuum cleaners, geysers, induction, refrigerator, gas

stove, cars, motor bikes and many more.

There are different types of energy – renewable (sunlight, rain, wind) and

non-renewable (Oil, petroleum).

Many places and people on our planet Earth do not get electricity

or other forms of energy. So, we should try to save energy at home.

Here is a newspapaer pic collage that I created to show that its always good to use smart technologies to make a smart home.

Let us all ave electricity by taking the following steps:

1.

Switch off power of the appliance once its use

is over

2.

When using refrigerator, geyser or room heater,

always set the temperature of the device to reduce high power usage

3.

While studying, use study lamps Do not light up the

room using big lights

4.

LED lights use very less energy, we should

change all the lights to LED lights

5.

Use smart home technology which can help save

energy by reducing wastage. It switches off lights, fans, air conditioners, TVs

etc when no one is there

6.

Set timers on appliances to turn off after

limited usage

7.

Switch off charges for phone and laptop when

charge is nearing completion

8.

Use Solar energy like solar cookers, solar

heaters

9.

Use light – sunlight and keep windows, doors and

its curtains open to have fresh ventilation and light

10.

Power off the engine of the car or the motor

bike when standing at a traffic signal for a long time

11.

Use bicycle as much as possible as it helps us

stay fit and also does not use any form of energy

12.

Use laptops instead of desktops as latter uses

more power for supply to monitor, CPU

13.

Use lights only as much as needed during

festivals like Diwali, Christmas
